How to Fix Our Economy

I’ll say it.

Everything reported about economic gains is either misleading or a straight out lie.

There hasn’t been a recovery from the 2008 recession.  All of the jobs that have been “created” have been lower-paying positions with fewer (if any) benefits.   When government steps in to stimulate the economy, they throw money at big corporations and you and I see little, if any, benefit. And the two parties running the show?  They know nothing but the failed theory of trickle-down economics.

So what can we do?

1.  Take a look at the latest episode of The Laura Flanders Show.

Instead of huge tax breaks, low interest loans, and other perks to corporations, we should be using our economic stimulus money to create as many worker-owned anchor businesses as possible.  This is economic development from –the-bottom-up; the way it should be.

2.  Go to the next Green Party of Monroe County Monthly Meeting.

The topic is Starting a Worker-Owned Business with a panel of speakers who are experienced in creating and working in worker-owned businesses.   The event is free and takes place at The Flying Squirrel Community Space, 285 Clarissa Street in Rochester.  It goes from 7-9pm.

3.  Help me get elected to the NYS Senate!

When elected, I will work to bring economic stimulus money into our area to directly create these worker-owned anchor businesses across the 55th District.

How can you help?
